Cornwall is blessed with a magnificent coastline and beautiful unspoiled countryside and moorland which provide great opportunities for walking and exploring.

The South West Coast Path is perhaps, the most famous long distance route, and it passes by our front door as it winds through Marazion. Each year, thousands of people walk all or part of the route from Minehead in Somerset to Poole Harbour in Dorset. We have a walking guidebook and maps for you to use at our B&B. The official SWCP web site has details of walks from Marazion to Porthleven and from Marazion to Penzance. If your planning to stop over in Marazion as part of your walking journey and don’t want to be laden down with backpacks, check out Luggage Transfers for a great way to transport your baggage en-route.

The ‘St Michael’s Way’ is a one-day coast-to-coast Micro-Pilgrimage in Cornwall. It traverses the north-south line between Lelant near St Ives to St Michaels Mount - around 12 miles. The route was created after the discovery of ancient shipping rosters proving that pilgrims from Ireland historically came to Lelant by sea on their way to Santiago de Compostela, and travelled over land to Marazion to visit St Michael’s Mount in order to avoid the treacherous seas around Lands End.

St Michael’s Way is the only pilgrimage route in Britain that is officially part of a European Cultural Route. It is a genuine British leg of the Camino de Santiago! The route connects five churches, four holy wells (plus one lost), two hillforts, two standing stones, two disappeared chapels, a monumental needle, a nature reserve, and a river both near source and joining the sea – set amongst incredible scenery and unique countryside, deep in the heart of Old Cornwall. Check out the route at this link: St Michael's Way - The British Pilgrimage Trust

The National Trust owns and manages vast tranches of coastline and countryside in Cornwall - check out the National Trust Guide for Walks Guide for inspirational ideas for places to visit and explore.

With over 300 miles of coastline and 2,400 miles of inland footpaths to explore the county tourist office Visit Cornwall also provide ideas for walking routes and trails.
