The Upper Deck B&B is an accredited cycle friendly place. We go the extra mile to welcome cyclists. We offer secure undercover storage for cycles and provide a foot pump, a comprehensive cycle tool box, a puncture repair kit and a first aid kit. We also have washing and tumble drying facilities should you need them (and a deep bath to soak away those aches and pains). We do have a minimum stay rule of 2 nights, so why not make Marazion your base for some superb routes and book in for a couple of nights or more.

Cornwall is a great place to enjoy your bike. There are easy rides along the newly surfaced coast path to Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole, as well as cross-country rides to Hayle and St Ives. For the more adventurous, there is the whole of the Land’s End peninsula to explore. Something for everyone and for all abilities. We welcome cyclist to stay with us at the Upper Deck. and have undercover secure cycle storage, tools and drying facilities available to the rear of our house if you bring your own cycle, but if you’ve left your bike behind, cycle hire is available from Lands End Cycle Hire (based in nearby Long Rock). Bikes (including electric bikes), can be delivered direct to our door, and helmets can be provided too.

EXPERIENCE Cycling Routes from Marazion & Penzance Cycle Hub

With so little traffic on the back lanes we can recommend three primarily road based routes leaving from Marazion with added optional off-road sections to access the wild and mysterious heart of ‘Kernow’ for more adventurous riders. If you really enjoy riding round Penzance, it also forms the start of the West Kernow Way, a 150 mile gravel route through the stunning scenery and fascinating stories of western Cornwall from Land’s End to the Lizard and then north to Redruth and Portreath. It’s only fair to warn you that Cornwall’s hills can be challenging. However, with so much interest and beauty packed into a tiny area, you don’t need to go far to have an incredible experience. Amazing foodie stops as well as traditional pasties and cream teas to help keep you going are never far away either.

The Cornish Way You can cycle from Land’s End all the way to Bude on the National Cycle Route No 3 (also known as the Cornish Way). Starting off with visits to Mousehole, Penzance and Marazion, the  route then heads through Cornwall’s industrial heartland to arrive in Truro. Here the route splits and Route 3 forms the southern option, crossing the River Fal on the King Harry Ferry and taking in Mevagissey, St. Austell and the Eden Project. The other option is to head to Newquay and onto Padstow where you pick up the Camel Trial to Bodmin where the two routes convene. The Cornish Way then climbs up onto Bodmin Moor, passes Camelford and hits the coast for the final stretch into Bude. Route 3 - Sustrans.org.uk

The Camel Trail Families flock to the Camel Trail for its easy going, off-road credentials. Following a former railway line it means there are no inclines – the whole 18 miles is just lovely and flat, perfect for those that have recently mastered two wheels or for grown-ups carrying precious loads. And the best bit about this route is that it stretches from Wenfordbridge near Bodmin, to the foodie heaven of Padstow, so great for refuelling the family.
