How could you spend your time in Marazion?
Here are a few ideas…
Arrive, settle into your room then stretch your legs with a short walk to the beach, enjoy dinner at one of Marazion’s lovely restaurants or pubs, and finish with a sunset stroll through the quaint and inviting streets dreaming of what to do the following day.
Take a tour of the incredible island castle of St Michael’s Mount,
Explore the quaint harbour, discover a sub tropical garden and climb to the battlements to see the the stunning views.
The causeway is less than a 5 minute walk from our B&B at Britannia House.
Take the open-top bus around the circumference of West Cornwall, visiting Porthcurno, Lands End, Sennen Cove and St Ives amongst others. Hop off and on as you wish.
Or you could let the train take the strain - park at St Erth station (3 miles), and take the train into St Ives. It’s a much better option than trying to find a parking spot - and the view of the Hayle Estuary and Carbis Bay makes this scenic trip one of the worlds great railway journeys!
Stay local - enjoy a paddle board trip with Ocean High SUP or relax and read a good book on the beach with views of St Michael’s Mount.
Or you could book an amazing sea safari with Marine Discovery Penzance to search for dolphins, whales, basking sharks, seals and sea birds rarely seen on land.
Take a day trip to the Helford River, explore the incredible Trebah Gardens, find your way through the maze at Glendurgan (NT) then end the day with a beachside meal at the Ferryboat Inn.
Try a spot of rock pooling and beach combing - turn over rocks and be surprised at the incredible variety of marine life!
Hire a bike and cycle the coast path to Penzance, and enjoy an incredible seafood dinner at Argoe in Newlyn or explore the beautiful Trengwainton Gardens.
Follow the South West Coast Path to Perranuthnoe, enjoy lunch at the Peppercorcn Cafe, The Victoria Inn or the Cabin Beach Cafe
Take your swimming costume and a towel to perhaps enjoy some body boarding on the beach at low tide.
After you’ve checked out there’s no need to rush home. If the weather is fine why not set off a little later to miss the weekend traffic. Take time to enjoy the beach, pick up some fudge as a gift for your family.
Perhaps call in somewhere special on the way home - The Eden Project or Lanhydrock House near Bodmin?
